Reupholstery project with Red Fox Furnishings

When I started my home renovation earlier this year, I had no plans to reupholster my spool chairs. They were still in great shape and were neutral enough to match with the new furniture I had selected for our great room. After talking with my designer from Gatehouse No1, we decided a little update of the chairs would be a good thing. This is what they looked liked BEFORE:

Custom reupholstered chairs by Red Fox Furnishings

Red Fox Furnishings is my go to place for reupholstery projects. They have a huge selection of fabrics and leathers and their prices are very reasonable. I spent a small fortune on these chairs when I first bought them, so I loved the idea of updating them instead of getting new chairs all together. It was definitely a more cost effective way to reupholster than to buy new.

When I began my fabric selections, I was picking neutral fabrics because they felt safe and logical. I kept going back to a pink velvet fabric, but I didn’t dare go that bold. I sent some photos to my designer at Gatehouse of my top choices and she said “You definitely need to go with the pink! It is SO you and it looks like something you would wear”

Oddly enough, this was the outfit I was wearing that day. Haha! A salmon pink color with camel colored shirt. It’s one of my favorite color combinations.

My designer helped me take the upholstery project one step further and suggested a welt in a contrasting color.

One of the best parts about the fabric is that it is a performance fabric. It is incredibly durable and stain resistant, which is an absolute must with three kids and a dog. On top of that, the fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable. It’s win-win all around!

Working with Red Fox was a dream. They let me borrow the fabric samples to take home to make sure they were going to match. Once I made my final decision with the help from my designer, Red Fox was super quick to get the fabric ordered and the chairs finished. When they called me to let me know my chairs were finished I was so surprised because it only took them two weeks! This is a super fast lead time for custom upholstery projects.

In the end, I am THRILLED with how the chairs turned out. I am so glad I went bold with the color. It really pops in my great room and makes such a statement.
